If you ask Jacqueline about her proposal story she will tell you as cool as can be “ask Joel, he tells the story way better.” Well… I’m not sure that is the case, but you can’t blame a girl for not wanting to tear up telling her story to someone she hasn’t met before.

Jacqueline and Joel are getting married this coming September at the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs. They work together in Dallas and decided they just had to get married in Colorado. While they were here visiting last weekend we decided there was no better time for engagement photos than sunrise in January. Despite the chill in the air and overcast skies our session was a blast. These two ooze style. Seriously, they are super gorgeous. There is no other way to say it. So, without further ado, here are a few highlights from our session last weekend.

Do you remember that day back in college before we started dating when you came into my office at the newspaper and told me you had been asked to quit photography? Do you remember what I said? God had given you the ability to tell people’s stories through a lens in a very unique and beautiful way and that gift needs to be shared with the world. I then demanded that you not quit… Is that when you decided to ask me out on a date?

I think its safe to say that you made a really good decision by sticking with photography. And even through all of the hurtles, road blocks, and brick walls we faced this past year and the parts of 2011 we would love to forget, we have to remember there were SO many amazing parts we shared together. The year ended on such an amazing note and the first week of the new year is looking AMAZING!

This past year you took your photography to a whole new level. Words cannot describe how extremely proud and blown away I am by the work you have produced. There is only one way to go from here and that’s UP. We can’t look back on the past we have to continue to grow and look ahead to what the future has in store for us.

This week the industry took notice as well. Out of 5,000 entries only 50 photos were chosen as the “best wedding photos of the year,” by Junebug Weddings and your photo was among them. Can you believe it? Your photo was among images from some of the world’s best wedding photographers, some of whom we are lucky enough to call our friends. You are a part of Junebug’s Best of the Best for 2011! And since you have such a hard time bragging about yourself, I’ll do it for you!

So, today we’ll celebrate you (and a little bit of me ) and some of our awesome features we’ve had the last few months! I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with this year… our couples are going to be SO ecstatic!

Kristin and Chris’s wedding would be the first time that Adam and I would be back at the Manor House since we were married there almost nine years ago. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. Kristin, Chris, their families, and their AMAZING friends made this summer something special. We’ve gotten to know them at a few different weddings and each wedding keeps getting better and better. We are so blessed Kristin stumbled into our lives because this group of friends truly embraced us like family and make our job so much fun.

Kristin and Chris are such amazing people and so in love. Their ceremony was one of the most heartfelt and hilarious we’ve ever witnessed! They knew right from the very beginning they were meant to be together and share their lives together.

Not only are they fun to photograph, but they also bring out the best in each other. They are so much fun to be around and we can’t wait to photograph their wedding. How can you not fall in love with these two?

Patrick and Charlotte sent their friends and family a website announcing their marriage. They knew from the very beginning their wedding day would be very different from the traditional wedding. Their day would be about celebrating their relationship and finding a deeper meaning together by being present in the moment.

The ceremony itself took them several months to write and included a brief meditation to help reinforce being present in the moment. This day wasn’t about the details or the party, it was about being connected and finding the true meaning of marriage.

Camille and Richard’s wedding in Boulder was just that. It was special, it was intimate, and it was about the love they share for each other.

This year has been one of the best years for us with the variety of weddings we’ve had. Every wedding is different (that’s a given ), but every wedding will hold a special place in our heart. And we are so lucky to share those precious moments with you.
