A love letter, best of the best 2011, and a whole lot of awesomeness01.06.12

To my dearest Adam,

Do you remember that day back in college before we started dating when you came into my office at the newspaper and told me you had been asked to quit photography? Do you remember what I said? God had given you the ability to tell people’s stories through a lens in a very unique and beautiful way and that gift needs to be shared with the world. I then demanded that you not quit… Is that when you decided to ask me out on a date? ;)

I think its safe to say that you made a really good decision by sticking with photography. And even through all of the hurtles, road blocks, and brick walls we faced this past year and the parts of 2011 we would love to forget, we have to remember there were SO many amazing parts we shared together. The year ended on such an amazing note and the first week of the new year is looking AMAZING!

This past year you took your photography to a whole new level. Words cannot describe how extremely proud and blown away I am by the work you have produced. There is only one way to go from here and that’s UP. We can’t look back on the past we have to continue to grow and look ahead to what the future has in store for us.

This week the industry took notice as well. Out of 5,000 entries only 50 photos were chosen as the “best wedding photos of the year,” by Junebug Weddings and your photo was among them. Can you believe it? Your photo was among images from some of the world’s best wedding photographers, some of whom we are lucky enough to call our friends. You are a part of Junebug’s Best of the Best for 2011! And since you have such a hard time bragging about yourself, I’ll do it for you!

So, today we’ll celebrate you (and a little bit of me ;) ) and some of our awesome features we’ve had the last few months! I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with this year… our couples are going to be SO ecstatic!

Love always, Imthiaz

Boudoir has a NEW home!07.05.11

Today is really exciting for us. Today we officially launch our new boudoir site… Fine Art Boudoir! For a long time we’ve gone back and forth about posting boudoir on the blog. So when it came time to redesigning the website we thought it was the perfect time to separate boudoir and weddings. We are twice as busy this year with boudoir than we have been in years past, so it just makes sense.

The good news is we can post way more photos of all of the new sessions I’ve been doing! The sad news is I will miss my partner in crime. As many of our boudoir clients know Adam decided to do more behind the scenes work. Although I’ll miss Adam at the sessions, all good things have to change at some point.

The other part of the good news is I will be doing a bit of blogging about boudoir. So, update your Google Reader and subscribe to Fine Art Boudoir! Don’t forget to click on over to Fine Art Boudoir {A Division of Adam & Imthiaz Photography} and check out the new site! :)

Featured: Caki & Ryan on Hi-Fi Weddings06.22.11

Maybe its because he plays in a band. It might be because during the planning stages for the wedding Caki and Ryan were all about the music that was going to be played at their wedding. Honestly, I think the moment Adam and I knew that music was a HUGE part of Ryan and Caki’s life was when they had a gospel choir join them for their first dance. Excitement filled the room and within seconds of the choir walking into the University Club. Wedding guests went absolutely crazy.

Today we’re excited to have Ryan and Caki’s wedding featured on the blog that is only fitting for this music-loving couple… Hi-Fi Weddings. You all know how I feel about this blog. Its genius and perfect for couples whose lives are influenced by music. Thank you so much Ashley over at Hi-Fi Weddings for featuring us again on your beautiful and inspiring blog.

Make sure you go and CHECK OUT the feature and leave a little bit of blog love!

Happy Wednesday! :)

Published: Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine06.20.11

When I started putting together this post I didn’t realize that we haven’t blogged in 20 days. Man, where did June go?

You might remember the random post about In Dreams… last summer where I was day dreaming about going into a store and picking up a wedding magazine and seeing our work inside. Well it happened… WE GOT A WEDDING PUBLISHED IN A MAGAZINE!

Honestly, I wanted to take a cheesy picture in the magazine and newspaper aisle at the grocery store until Adam put his foot down and told me I was crazy! I wasn’t even upset about him saying no about the picture, but I was all upset about him calling me CRAZY! I was excited and he crushed it in a single second. We will most definitely remember that moment as one of the funniest in our career, for sure.

We have to thank Megan and Nick for letting us be a part of their Vail wedding and to the staff over at Rocky Mountain Bride for the AMAZING feature. It is such an honor to be in a locally-owned magazine that celebrates the wonderful state we live in and that we are so fortunate to work in. You can check out the entire magazine by CLICKING HERE.

In other news… you might have noticed a bit of a change on the blog, well… we’ve designed a whole new website! Make sure you check out the NEW WEBSITE! And if you’ve been wondering what we’ve been up too, you will find out very soon. There have been some fantastic weddings the last few weeks and we can’t wait to share them.

Happy Monday! :)
