Someone recently asked me if we love what we do. Normally I would think nothing of it, but that day it stopped me in my tracks. I stood there for a minute speechless and then said “yes, of course we do”. I’m not sure why that particular day it stopped me in my tracks, but it got me thinking about our photography.

At the beginning of the year we vowed to take more risks. Think outside of the box. Push ourselves harder than we had in the past simply because we didn’t want to become uninspired. Our amazing couples were excited about the idea. They wanted us to see differently then we had before. They wanted us to bring out the best everyday.

Right now Adam and I are excited with how things are going. We’re excited about where our photography is, and the images we are making. We’re getting inspired and looking at every situation and wondering “how can we photograph this differently”. We are storytellers and we thrive on being at a wedding from the beginning to end. Telling the story of the day unfolding.

That’s just what Adam did at Mike and Jeanette’s wedding. He told the story of how the day unfolded in a way that only Adam could. With our good friend Otto Schulze and his amazing assistant AD shooting along side Adam, he saw differently and took incredible risks. So, thank you to Otto and AD for helping us out on this wedding. We really appreciate having you in our lives.

You have to wonder… who runs this household? If its anything like our house the cute little girl holding the umbrella thinks she does. We had to share this one frame from Jen and Tally’s recent family portrait session.

I love the look her little brother’s face. Do you think he’s wondering why her big sister won’t let anyone else under the umbrella?

They grew up just miles away from each other in Littleton, Colorado. They went to the same high school, but Billy was a few years older. As fate would have it they met when two of their friends started dating. For the next few years they would see each other on occasion.

It wasn’t until 2003 when the two would meet again in college. It was her first night in the dorms and what better way to celebrate your first night at college then at a party. When she walked in she was excited to see a familiar face from high school. They talked the rest of the night. Billy would end up helping Stephani with her business classes throughout the year, it was pretty lucky that Billy just happened to be the teachers assistant for her class. By the end of the school year they realized there was something more.

Here’s a little peek into Stephani and Billy’s engagement session.

TGIF!

Tomorrow starts trunk show season at Blue Bridal Couture. On so many levels I wish I was getting married next year because one of my favorite designers Tara Keely’s Spring 2011 line will be at Blue. I love trunk shows because its your chance to find that perfect dress at a discounted price.

Make sure you check out Blue Bridal Couture’s website for all the information on making appointments and hours. Not only will you fall in love with their new store you’ll fall in love with Sarah and Aubrie all while finding the perfect dress.

I could go on for days about how much we love the dresses, the ladies, and the store itself. Any chance we get we jump at the chance to collaborate with Blue, because honestly, they are so much fun to be around. Do yourself a favor and go and check out the upcoming trunk shows… you’ll thank me later! 🙂
