We didn’t shoot their wedding, but I wish we had. An and Viet are some of the coolest people we’ve met. Here are a few highlights from their Day After Session.
Yeah… these two are HOT! Oh, and the last few frames are shot on film with a Nikonos underwater camera.
The father/daughter dance is one of our favoirte parts of a wedding day. During the dances Adam and I look for the brides mom, or scan the crowd for emotions. We always do this because it can make for a very special story telling photo.
People let their guard down and forget that there are cameras around. Sometimes they don’t realize that we are looking to document them as well as the bride and her father. One of our favorite photos from 2009 came from Katie and Steve’s wedding. Katie’s mom Jackie was so moved she started crying when Katie danced with her father.
We loved this photo because it showed both mom and grandma full of emotions. It inspires us to think, and most of all, tells the story of Katie’s dance with her father.
So, I’ve been working on a project (more on that later), and the project is taking me through all of our past weddings. Its a funny thing going through weddings again. You start remembering all the funny little things that happened. The other night I was laughing so hard my stomach started to hurt and I had to get Adam in on the action. I started getting deeper and deeper into the receptions… And there it was, air guitars, the hand microphones, and the packed dance floors. All you wedding pros know what I’m talking about… Journey, “Don’t Stop Believing.”
What is it about that song? We run to the dance floor to photograph it. The dance floor is more packed than it was the whole night. People go crazy! Every wedding it is the same thing. Every wedding it is just as funny. Every wedding it is just as fun. We all know every word and we all sing along. Even Adam gets his little booty shake on.
Music is a huge part of weddings, in fact, its also a huge part of our daily life. So… Adam and I have decided to let you into our world just a little bit more. We want to share with you the music that inspires us, the music that inspires you, the music that gets us laughing, the music that you celebrate your day to, and that one song that every time you hear it will reminds you of a memory. Fridays will now be Friday Night Dance Party. Its going to be a lot of fun and we want you to get involved. What’s your favorite song? What music inspires you? We want to kick off the weekend with a bang and have a little dance party.
I was surfing You Tube for Journey and came along this little gem… I only wish this will happen in the near future at one of our weddings (hint, hint..).
2010 has started off with a BANG! Our cute couple Miriel and Josh tied the knot in front of a packed house of close friends and family at the Magnolia Hotel in Denver. These two are so perfect for each other and their families just seem to click.
Their style is stellar and they have more things in common then people realize. Most of all they are compassionate, and sincere. The two always seem to know what each other are thinking without saying a thing. Their friends are their extended family and are always there when they need them.
We really could go on for days about Miriel and Josh and how wonderful these people are. Their wedding was amazing and the Pineapple Crackers were killer, the dance floor was packed the entire night. Miriel and Josh partied the night away with their friends and family, in fact, Adam and I kinda wished it wouldn’t end. Miriel and Josh definitely knew what they wanted and they made sure they had the perfect wedding.
Thank you so much Miriel and Josh for allowing Adam and I to document your day.
