Huong & Thien: Denver Engagement

We’ve known Huong for awhile now, she has been a bridesmaid at a few of our weddings. The last wedding  we saw her at she couldn’t remember how many weddings she has been a bridesmaid for. But now, its her turn to be the bride.

Houng and Thien met through her cousin and when it came time for Thien to propose he started shopping online. Thien is a big online shopper and Houng gets mad because he won’t step foot into a store. Little did Houng know that one day 3 rings would show up in the mail. They were mailed to her mom’s house so she would have no choice but to open them in front of her entire family.

Houng had no idea what was coming because they were in a big UPS box. As the excitement grew and she started to open the box Thien made her choose her engagement ring. This time it was different she wasn’t mad, she was happy, surprised, excited and emotional. It was the perfect proposal and so fitting of Thien’s personality.

Although we’re already booked on Huong and Thein’s wedding date it didn’t stop them from meeting up for an engagement session. Here are a few highlights from their session. Congratulations, Huong! You are going to make a beautiful bride next month. :)

An & Viet: Day After Session

We didn’t shoot their wedding, but I wish we had. An and Viet are some of the coolest people we’ve met. Here are a few highlights from their Day After Session.

Yeah… these two are HOT! Oh, and the last few frames are shot on film with a Nikonos underwater camera.

Happy Tuesday!

September 2, 2010 - 11:16 am Steve Stanton - you gotta love b&w film, especially as sultry as those nikonas shots!

Wanna be our intern?

Adam and I have a position open for an intern. If you have the genuine desire to learn the art and craft of wedding photojournalism then its worth looking into. You don’t have to be a Nikon shooter, but that would be a plus :) ! We have a very full and busy fall ahead of us and we’re looking for someone who really loves photojournalism. The internship will be unpaid, but there is a possibility of growth within Adam and Imthiaz Photography (you’ll have to win over Zoe… ;) ).

Here’s what you will be doing:

*Working 3 days a week (at least 20 hrs)

*Shooting either weddings, stylized shoots, or lifestyle sessions with us

*Editing and album design

*Learning in’s and out’s of running and starting a studio

Doesn’t it already sound like fun? What we need from you is really easy:

*Email resume and link to portfolio or send 20 images.

*Basic knowledge of Digital SLR and processing software (photoshop is preferred)

* Tell us why you want to learn from us!

Email all of your information with the subject line: A&I PHOTO INTERNSHIP to imthiaz@ahpphotos.com. Thanks in advance for your interest.

Featured: Junebug Weddings

Its been a full two weeks since our last post. At first the lull started with not knowing what to write about because my heart was all over the place with Zoe starting kindergarten. Then it became about getting us into a routine. Between ballet, golf classes, and school, sometimes things just have to suffer and you find yourself just needing to be a PARENT. So here we are two weeks later. School has been in session for a full week and we’re all adjusting to our daily routine. Zoe is an amazing little girl. The last few weeks haven’t been the perfect cake walk, but her strength is amazing and we are SO proud of her.

Yesterday made life a little bit sweeter. The AMAZING ladies over at Junebug Weddings, featured Kirsten and Mike. I’m not even going to lie… this feels good, real good! And, its a great way to make our first appearance in two weeks. There are so many wedding blogs that I follow on a daily basis and Junebug Weddings is up there on the top of the list. Its been like that since the very beginning. Before their list of the world’s best wedding photographers was even a thought, Adam and I would day dream about being featured on their blog.

Now here we are with such an amazing feature from the one couple everyone falls in love with. How can you not… they’re Kirsten and Mike, you can’t help but fall in love with those two people. You can read all about their wedding on the What Junebug Loves blog and you can also check out their color palette and WONDERFUL list of vendors that helped make their day a shining success in the real wedding section!

Please make sure you go and check out their feature. Leave a little blog love for the ladies over at Junebug. And, if you haven’t bookmarked them yet in Google Reader, you better do so now. These ladies have an amazing eye for detail and inspiration.

Enjoy your weekend ya’ll! ;)
