Olivia & Adam: Colorado Wedding (Part 2 of 2)07.30.10

I knew about Olivia long before we actually met. Isn’t it funny when you meet someone for the first time and they exceed every expectation you had of them? She is an amazing woman with a big heart, and when we met Adam for the first time we knew why Olivia’s world stopped when she met him. They are perfect together.

This was our first wedding that was broadcast live on the Internet. All of Adam’s friends and family in Australia watched the two of them tearfully say their vows to one another. If only they were able to see the reception… they danced all night!

The wedding day was nothing short of perfection and we are so glad that we were able to be a part of it. Here are a few of our favorites from their day. If you haven’t already seen it, make sure you check out Adam and Olivia’s wedding feature on Hi-Fi Weddings!

We're quoted… well…. Adam is!07.27.10

I remember like it was yesterday when we did our first boudoir session. One of our brides wanted to do the session as a wedding gift. We weren’t sure even then if we wanted to add boudoir to our services or not. Now here we are a few years later rocking boudoir photography. We were flattered when we got the call from the Boulder Daily Camera a few months back asking if we thought boudoir photography was a trend for 2010.

Well of course it is! Here’s what Adam had to say:

The issue came out in April if you have not had a chance to see it you can CLICK HERE to read more from Adam and read all of the leading trends for 2010 in Colorado.

Happy Tuesday! :)

Our life through iPhone…07.23.10

They all looked at us like we were crazy. Their jaws dropped to the ground and then they asked the same questions we got all summer. “Your not car camping? Zoe is hiking? What does she do? There’s no cooler for food?”  We answered those questions the same way we did all summer. We tried car camping at the beginning of the summer for one night. We ended up in the car at 3 a.m. Zoe was cold, angry, and uninterested in camping. Recently we have been taking her on small day hikes here and there, but only for a few hours each time.

And then it came. Our big camping trip. We hiked deep into the wilderness and slept in a tent. Between mosquitoes bites, sunburns, and melt downs every 2 hrs during the hikes we had our first Houseman backpacking trip. You never know how strong your child is until you put them in a situation where there is no turning back.

The first day was 4.5 miles. The second day was also 4.5 miles. Zoe was mostly entertained by the fish guts, horses, and other hikers. All of the hikers we ran into were so impressed by Zoe, in all cases she was the youngest person they had ever seen in the backcountry. She made s’mores and played in dirt loving every minute of it. When she decided she was no longer interested in camping we explained to her that there were two options: hike out like we did coming in, or hike 9 miles the last day… She chose to hike 9 miles the last day.

Zoe is amazing. I envy her strength. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t all peachy the last day, but its a trip we will never forget. Here is our life camping via iPhone.
