Friday Night Dance Party!04.30.10

I stumbled across a new wedding inspiration blog this week. I thought it would be perfect to blog about it since Fridays are all about the music we are inspired by. Hi-Fi Weddings is a blog dedicated to music lovers coming together and sharing the music that is most important to them on their wedding day. I can’t wait for us to be featured on this blog (hint, hint Brooke ;) )!

I love this blog. I love the play lists, the weddings, and everything else in between.

Okay. Now on to why you are really reading the blog today. Zoe woke up early this morning begging to put the names in the hat. As you know if you commented on the blog this week your name was entered into a drawing for an iTunes gift card to celebrate our 300th blog post.

Drumroll please… our friend from the north, Brianna Phelan is the lucky winner of the iTunes gift card. Brianna, I hope you buy lots and lots of Black Eyed Peas! :)

TGIF ya’ll!

Eric & Sunshine: Colorado Engagement04.27.10

Today is a day of change. With a surprising and flattering email good things are happening. Yesterday we celebrated our 300th blog post with a great giveaway of an iTunes gift card. If you have not already entered the contest make sure you do… there’s only a few days left.

Today also marks the day where my second article for Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine online has gone live. I wrote a great article on Getting the Most Out of Family Portraits. Make sure you check it out there is some great advice on how to stay organized and on time on your wedding day.

But, the most important news of the day is the story of Eric and Sunshine and how they met. When Sunshine’s friend thought her boyfriend was cheating on her, she asked Sunshine to spy on him. She logged into MySpace to help her friend out, but never thought she would find the man of her dreams. She surfed MySpace and came across Eric’s profile. She was instantly intrigued and knew she had to meet him. She started stalking Eric and sending him messages. As they got to know each other they knew it was something special. After a few months of going back and forth they knew it was time to meet and have been together ever since. We can not wait to be a part of their wedding day this coming June.

They are stunning in every way. Here are some highlights from their engagement session…

The winner will be announced on Friday in the Friday Night Dance Party post.

We love music and this was the perfect contest for this milestone. All entries must be in by Thursday at midnight Mountain time. Adam and I would like to thank you all again for your support and can’t wait to give away this gift card.

Happy Monday! :)

Friday Night Dance Party!04.23.10

I’m so excited today I can not contain myself. We have a BIG contest next week to celebrate our 300 blog post. Can you believe it? We are already at 300! Honestly, it seems like we just celebrated the 200 blog post. We are making final decisions on contest details, but its going to be great and you will LOVE it!

A few days ago we got a little present in the mail (more on that next week) and its sitting in a box just staring at us every time we walk by. I love it. The funniest part is that it is not that big of a deal. Its reminds me of kids and how they get a shiny new toy and they just want to play with that one toy all the time. But, I will tell you it has to do with this photo from Miriel and Josh’s wedding.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us and we hope you enjoy your weekend as well.

TGIF!

Printer Calibrating… say what?04.22.10

When you start out in business you never really think about the little things. You don’t think about which model printer will perform the best for you. You don’t think about the size of the laptop you buy until it comes time to travel with it and actually try and work on the silly little meal tray on the plane!

You don’t think about your monitor when you place that first album order. Some album companies do prints before you place your order to make sure that your monitor is calibrated properly. One company we used sent us the prints and they looked good… at least that’s what we thought at the time. But, then we took on a project. We upgraded our printer, so we can do some small in-house printing orders. We thought we didn’t need to calibrate our monitor until our prints were coming out blue, yellow, and everything in between.

Now, that our monitor is calibrated we see a world of difference. We never thought it would have made such a huge difference, but, our prints are so much more beautiful now.  No… really they are! ;)

Before:

After:

Can you see the difference? The before is lighter and more yellow. The after photo was re-edited this morning and is… yummy! That’s enough geek talk for today!

Happy Earth Day! :)
