A little bit of jealousy ran through me as Adam got ready in our hotel room. I knew I could not be upset, I was the one who signed him up for the workshop. I thought to myself, why did I not sign myself up when I knew there was only one spot left for Mike Colon’s Seven Workshop in New Orleans during Pictage’s PartnerCon? I knew I was going to have a great day hearing so many amazing photographers speak who both Adam and I admire, but my heart was with Adam wishing I could be there too.
That day I would text Adam in between speakers, hoping to get some type of update to what he was doing. After my day of hearing world-class photographers speak I went back to the hotel to get Zoe, relieve the nanny, and take her to the French Quarter. I had no idea where Mike had taken the lucky 7 people, I just wanted a glimpse. As Zoe and I headed back to our hotel I felt a little disappointment that we did not get to see them all in action, so we patiently waited for Adam to get back to the hotel. As the hours past Zoe fell asleep and I sat there and wondering what they were doing next.
Adam got back around midnight and we sat there in the dark and talked until 3 a.m. We talked about the seven workshop, the speakers I heard that day, and the changes we would make in our business. I started to go through the images on the back of his camera and I felt that jealously again. Adam shot with Mike Colon. Adam hung out with Mike Colon for an entire day. Adam told bad jokes to Mike Colon. I realized that I could not feel that jealously anymore because Mike Colon changed Adam’s life.
I am so excited for the changes Adam and I will be making with our business. Our trip to New Orleans was great and we learned so much. We hung out with great friends and met some new ones. It was a great change of pace to be in an environment where people celebrate your success, not hate on it. Here are a few highlights from Adam’s workshop with Mike Colon. As always we had such a hard time narrowing down the highlights, so there is a slide show.
Thank you Mike for changing Adam’s life and the course of our business forever.

Great images from the workshop, I love the bokeh on the last image of Tiffani!
Great photos Adam!! That last one is my favorite; gorgeous models!
Do not be jealous, my friend. Life will present you with an equally amazing opportunity at some point and I know you’re going to rock it. The shots are awesome Adam and sounds like a great experience.
Hey guys! I just want to say that I am so flattered by your comments! It was an absolute pleasure hanging out with Adam for the day and his images are really spectacular! Imthiaz I wish you could have joined us too! Maybe you can come to my 3 day workshop I’m planning with Kelly Moore and Jeremy Cowart in Nashville this coming February. It’s going to be insane. It may even top my NOLA workshop so Adam can be jealous
Hope you guys are doing awesome! Thanks again for the super cool blog post! I’m going to twitter about it now!
