When Uyen and Tuan first started talking about locations for their engagement sessions we knew that one of them would have to be a beach. Uyen was really jealous of all her friends back in Vietnam who had their sessions shot on sandy beaches and knew she wanted something similar. Adam and I decided the best way to come close to a beach in Colorado was to get creative with the lighting and go to the Boulder reservoir.
When Uyen and Tuan pulled up in their car our jaws dropped… we had no idea that they would be showing up in full wedding attire. The afternoon we met massive storm clouds were looming above and the wind was blowing at speeds up to 45 m.p.h! As the excitement grew we started shooting an Engagement/Day After session only to find out that the beach closed 10 minutes after we arrived. We made the best of our ten minutes, hopped back in the cars and drove to the backside of the reservoir and hiked our way back to the beach. Uyen was such a trooper in her 3-inch heels!
This is the first of a two part series with Uyen and Tuan, the second engagement session is set for a few weeks from now. Enjoy the highlights…
