Valentine's Day02.09.09

Seven years ago, Adam and I were dating a little over a month. As Valentine’s Day slowly approached we both said to each other how much we disliked the Holiday. It wasn’t because we were single, it was because we both equally thought it was pointless. We felt there shouldn’t be one day out of the year where you tell your significant other you love them, you should be able to surprise them anytime throughout the year.

The past three years Adam and I have found a new opinion for Valentine’s Day. Its not about it being some cheesy Holiday, its really about showing the people in your life that you care about them and your thinking about them. Zoe has been talking about making something for her grandparents to celebrate Valentine’s Day for weeks. On Saturday night we all went to Michaels to find something she could make. First thing Sunday morning we sat down on the living room floor to make her Valentines. We had such a blast putting glitter and stickers on the foam cards she wanted to take them to the post office right away to send them out.

So this year will be all about making Zoe feel special. We’ll be watching Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, and taking a weekend trip up to Telluride.

  1. what a great idea!!! hope you guys have a wonderful valentines day spending time as a family!
